a whitewater week
last week was a great week. my friend shanti (seen here in a picture with me from spring break) has recently developed a love for whitewater. i had the opportunity to go with her last tuesday to whitewater's Cru meeting. Shanti had met 4 freshman women and wanted to hang out with them more. so we headed down early to enjoy a little china house with them (♥ their crab rangoon!). it was so fun on the drive to hear shanti's heart and vision for interning with Crusade next year and her desire to have whitewater be a part of her position focus. i'm excited that others share my love & passion for the students at whitewater and i think shanti is a great person to be able to reach & encourage them in ways that i can't. it will be fun to see her develop the relationships with these freshman women and the student leaders, as well as see her share the Gospel with many others.
at the Cru meeting, it was fun to see old friends, although to be honest, there aren't too many of them there any more! there were a lot of faces that i didn't recognize, which is a good sign. it means that more people are getting involved and Crusade as a movement is continuing on. it was also fun to hear matthew (the current organization president) speak! he shared a lot about his experience on summer project this past summer and the things he learned from it. good reminders of my summer project from 4 years ago.

on saturday i was able to see many more old friends from my involvement in Crusade in college. we had a mini-reunion of an old tradition of killer uno game nights at our pastor's house. it was a great time. a little competitive fun and a lot of great conversation. i love hanging out with friends and hearing more about where the Lord has brought us all to. we could all use more of that.
here is a great group shot! little samuel adds a nice new component to our community. :)
