holly and i headed to st. louis for a weekend adventure in october. she kind of likes this team called the colts.... and they were playing the rams that weekend so she was able to buy 2 tickets to the game from a co-worker. he apparently has season tickets to the rams despite the fact that it is a 6 hour drive from madison to st. louis. strange.
anyways, i have a sneaking suspicion that i was given the extra ticket because i know st. louis and am much better at directions than she is. ;) haha. okay, i know she likes me too. but my knowledge of the city and ability to navigate around the big city was at least a helpful factor in my invitation. also the fact that she made a list of things to do this year and going on a roadtrip with me was one of the things on the list. so she had to do it at some point.
despite a few interesting kinks to our drive down to st. louis, we made it fine and headed to a st. louis blues game. i love hockey.
my grandparents used to live in the st. louis area and so when we would go down for Christmas, we used to go to an occasional blues game. but it had been so long since we had been to a game, that i had never been in the scottrade center where they now play. the last time i had been to a game, they were still playing in the checkerdome. yikes.
anyways, the game was really fun.
hello ty conklin. i'm sorry you don't play for the redwings anymore.
i'd forgotten that the last nhl game holly and i went to was right before the playoffs started and since both teams were in the playoffs, there wasn't much fighting because no one wanted to get a stupid injury or suspension. however, this game was early on in the season. so there was plenty of fighting going on. within the first 2 minutes of the game a fight broke out.
holly wore her minnesota north stars shirt since the blues were playing the dallas stars. she didn't cheer too loudly though because we were both amused and a little frightened of the guy sitting next to us. ;)
the blues ended up losing, but it was still fun to be at the game.
