well we made it. finally back in wisconsin.
our last day in kansas city involved church, lunch, an ahem jr photo shoot, the vocal & guitar stylings of miss holly willman, packing the prius like its never been packed before, and a long drive through iowa. even though our time in kc was short, it was great to spend some time with ahem.
in case i haven't mentioned this before, ahem is a book club i am a part of. it stands for Ashley, Holly, Erin & Miranda. original, i know. we each start with a book, read through it, write comments, underline & highlight favorite quotes or sections, and leave post-it notes with things we are processing about from the book. we each have our own specific color (mine is blue of course!) and so by the end, the 4 books look pretty cool with 4 different colors written all through them. we all met on summer project 5 years ago and this is a fun way to keep in contact and grow in our walks with the Lord together. its been so great. now if i would just be better about finishing my books on time! ;)
here is ashley, holly, erin, me & baby josiah (the beginnings of ahem jr!) on the felder couch before we left.
holly was the pour soul who got stuck in the backseat of the prius. she had to wedge herself in amongst the guitar, luggage, books & wedding dress (yes, wedding dress, i was bringing it home for a friend who was flying home from the conference and couldn't take it with her. no, i am not even close to needing a wedding dress of my own.)
