i went home for a total of about 27 hours this week. mom wanted to finish the wedding favors and had a list of things she still wanted to get done around the house. you know all those projects that people think about doing around their house? well, schedule a family wedding and suddenly they will all get done. i think part of the reason weddings are so expensive is that you have to add on all those projects to the cost of the whole shindig. makes me think of that episode of Friends where emily's parents are trying to split the costs of all the upgrades to their house with ross's parents. i love Friends.
okay, but back to the original idea of this post here. so i helped my mom with yard work, gardening, favors, etc. but i also got to see my dad. i love my dad. he's great. super supportive, never forgets to tell me how much he loves me and appreciates me, pretty funny...
that's where this comes in. my family finds my dad hilarious most of the time. and usually he's not even trying to be funny. it just happens that way.
so it shouldn't have even surprised us when he went out and bought this. i mean, he's been talking about it for a long time, but he's also been talking about actually doing something with his dad's old boat. the boat has been sitting along the side of our house for probably around 6 or 7 years and it hasn't moved yet.
holly says he's just having a strange mid-life crisis. i tell her that's just how he is. all of the time. ;) so there's my dad on his new moped coming home from work!
my dad also decided that as long as they were going to clean the house and get rid of some stuff, they should have a garage sale and try and make a little money off of it! so, 2 weeks before the wedding, my dad is having a garage sale! like they didn't have enough projects on their list already.... ;)
lol.
i love my dad.
